Emirates completes 1 month service into Adelaide

With A6-ECO arriving tonight, it completes 1 month of Emirates flights into Adelaide. There were a total of 18 EK440/441 rotations in November. The aircraft which made these visits were

A6-EBW, ECE, ECF (2 visits), ECH, ECK, ECL, ECM (2 visits), ECN, ECS, ECU. ECV, ECW, EGH, EGI (2 visits)

Of this list 5 aircraft made repeat visits, 13 aircraft made their 1st visit,

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECO (1st visit)

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECO arrived as ‘EK440’ from Dubai at 20.35hrs completing its 11hrs 43mins flight. The aircraft departed as ‘EK441’ at 22.35hrs with an expected flight time of 13hrs 21mins to Dubai.

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECN (1st visit)

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECN arrived as ‘EK440’ from Dubai at 20.30hrs completing its 11hrs 35mins flight. The aircraft departed as ‘EK441’ at 22.45hrs with an expected flight time of 13hrs 24mins to Dubai.

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECL (1st visit)

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECL arrived as ‘EK440’ from Dubai at 20.40hrs completing its 12hrs flight. The aircraft departed as ‘EK441’ at 22.40hrs with an expected flight time of 13hrs 18mins to Dubai.

Bad weather in Melbourne brings diversions to Adelaide

(Not the usual line u of tails at Adelaide Airport, The odd one out is The Air Asia X tail. See details below)

Due to bad thunderstorms that passed through Melbourne mid-morning, it caused 3 internationals en-route to Melbourne to divert to Adelaide.

The 1st to Arrive was Air Asia X A330-300 9M-XXE which was en-route from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne as flight ‘X7214’ using  call sign ‘Xanadu 214’ arrived into Adelaide at 09.50hrs. The aircraft departed back to Melbourne as flight ‘X7215D’ using callsign ‘Xanadu 215 Delta’ at 11.25hrs. This was XXE’s 1st visit to Adelaide.

This was 9M-XXE’s 1st visit to Adelaide and only the 4th Air Asia X aircraft to visit Adelaide. Previous visit by the airline were also weather diversions and operated by 9M-XXF x 2 (both times en-route Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne) and 9M- XXA (en-route Kuala Lumpur Perth)

The 2nd to arrive was Malaysia Airlines A330-300 9M-MTF which was also en-route Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne as ‘MH149’, arrived into Adelaide at 09.55hrs . The aircraft continued onto Melbourne under the same flight number at 11.40hrs.

The last diversion for the morning was Singapore Airlines B777-300 9V-SYH which was en-route from Singapore to Melbourne as flight ‘SQ237’, arrived into Adelaide at 10.20hrs. The aircraft continued onto Melbourne at 12.15hrs using the same flight number.

The 9V-SY* block are not common to Adelaide. Over the past 6 years Adelaide has seen diversions from 9V-SYF, 9V-SYL and 9V-SYG.

Global Express VH-VDX makes a visit

Pratt Aviation Pty Ltd owned Global Express VH-VDX arrived into Adelaide from Essendon at 10.30hrs. It departed at 14.10hrs to Perth.

This is the aircrafts 3rd visit to Adelaide, however today was the aircraft’s 1st visit wearing its new Livery. Its previous visit the aircraft was wearing the livery shown in the photo below.

Jetstar A320 VH-VFK (1st visit)

Jetstar Airways A320 VH-VFK made its 1st visit to Adelaide today. It arrived from Cairns as ‘JQ963’ at 10.35hrs and departing back to Cairns as ‘JQ 960’ at 11.20hrs.

VH-VFK was delivered to Jetstar on 18/11/12 and entered revenue service on 24/11/12

Emirates B777-300ER A6-EGH (1st visit)

Emirates B777-300ER A6-EGH arrived as ‘EK440’ from Dubai at 20.30hrs completing its 11hrs 42min flight. The aircraft departed as ‘EK441’ at 22.35hrs with an expected flight time of 13hrs 14mins to Dubai.

This is the 3rd A6-EG* aircraft to visit Adelaide. A6-EGI has visited twice operating EK440/441 service and A6-EGY visited on 21/10/12 as operating a promotional flight to Adelaide as EK7404.

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECS (1st visit)

Emirates B777-300ER A6-ECS arrived as ‘EK440’ from Dubai at 20.30hrs completing its 12hr flight. The aircraft departed as ‘EK441’ at 22.50hrs with an expected flight time of 13hrs 29mins to Dubai.

Aerorescue Dornier 328’s VH-PPF & VH-PPQ come to town

Making a very rare venture to Adelaide were 2 Dornier 328 aircraft owned by Aerorescue.

The 1st to arrive was Essendon based Dornier 328 VH-PPQ which arrived at 05.15hrs from its home base as ‘Rescue 431’, it departed at 05.55hrs for a 4hr 48min flight over the Southern Ocean it returned to Adelaide at 10.50hrs. After overnighting, it departed back to Essendon on 22/11/12 at 09.05hrs as ‘Rescue 431’.

The 2nd to arrive was Perth based Dornier 328 VH-PPF which arrived at 02.25hrs from its home base as ‘Rescue 461’. After a short stop it departed back to Perth at 18.00hrs as ‘Rescue 461’.
