Today marks one year since Adelaide witnessed its second IL96 visit within a 6 month Period.
It then departed the next morning 31/12/10 using the same flight number bound for Hong Kong at 0930.
The Il-96-400T was no stranger to Adelaide in 2010, after RA-96103’s sister RA-96102 made a trip down to Adelaide on 2/7/ 2010 from Colombo, Sri Lanka as ‘POT9690’. It departed the next day bound for Hong Kong.
Further to the post on this blog on December 20th regariding Singapore Airlines increase to 10 flights a week to Adelaide, tonight the airlines has released the schedule for the 3 new services.

All 10 services will be operated by the airlines A330-300 fleet (as seen in photo above).
Adelaide received 2 A320 diversions this evening due to bad weather in Melbourne.
The 1st diversion was by Air Australia (previously Strategic Airlines) VH-YQC operating flight ‘VC576′ enroure Brisbane to Melbourne. This aircraft arrived at 1800.
This is both Air Australia’s and VH-YQC’s 1st visit to Adelaide. YQC is one of two aircraft in the fleet to wear the airlines new livery after previously wearing the Strategic livery.
Th 2nd diversion was by Tiger Airways A320 VH-VNP which also enroute to Melbourne from Brisbane as ‘TT345‘. Th aircraft arrived at 1830.
This was Adelaide’s 1st visit by a Tiger Airways aircraft into since the airline was grounded earlier in 2011.
